Music has been my faithful companion since my youth. First as a passion, then as a vocation. My instrument is the double bass. Deep,
Powerful, grounded. Just like me.

I completed my studies at the Basel Music Academy and furthered my education at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. These years were formative: they not only gave me technical confidence, but also artistic maturity and openness to a wide variety of musical styles.

Tradition meets versatility

A central part of my musical life is the Swiss folk music. As a founding member of the Gupfbuebä chapel and later also as bassist of the Chapel Bühler-Fischer I have had the pleasure of helping to shape many stages, halls and festivals. The culture of music-making is just as important to me as the quality of the performance, down-to-earth but musically precise.

From stage to stage, also classical

In addition to folk music, my heart also beats for the classical music. I have played in orchestras like the Basel Chamber Orchestrathe 21st Century Orchestrathe Camerata Switzerland or the Collegium Musicum Zug experiences that have shaped my depth as a musician as well as my ability to take a step back in the ensemble.

Crossover & Projects

I love musical encounters that cross genre boundaries. That's why I've also played in bluegrass bands (Rosewood Delight), folk quartets (Drumlin) and various studio and festival projects. My bass has not only accompanied, but also carried, shaped and often laid the foundation for the entire musical experience.

My work can also be heard on CD productions and live recordings - including some albums by the Gupfbuebä or Kapelle Bühler-Fischer.
