My story, between music and the sky.
Music with roots and breadth
My training in Basel and Los Angeles taught me not only technique, but above all one thing: an openness to different soundscapes. Whether it’s folk music with the Bühler-Fischer band, folk with Drumlin, jazz with Alain’s Jazz Company, or classical concerts with the Basel Chamber Orchestra, each ensemble has its own language. The double bass is always the foundation.
I also taught for several years at the Unterägeri Music School and other schools in the canton of Zug. Working with students has shown me how important it is not only to play music, but also to pass it on.
Flying—From Dream to Reality
My fascination with aviation began when I was a child. A few years ago, I turned that fascination into reality: ATPL theory at the Horizon Swiss Flight Academy, practical flight lessons, and simulator training. Today, I fly as a private pilot and occasionally take guests on sightseeing flights over eastern Switzerland.
What appeals to me about flying is similar to what I find in music: total concentration, clear procedures, and confidence in my own abilities. And, of course, the view. Seeing Switzerland from above is special every single time.
Commitment, calm and genuine encounters
What’s important to me in both worlds is being attentive, well-prepared, and open to whatever arises in the moment. Whether in music or while driving and flying, I focus on quality, clarity, and connection. I believe people sense this, and that’s exactly why they love to come back.
My path - in four stages
1973 - Born in
Canton of Zug
I was born in Zug in 1973 and grew up in Unterägeri. I was already musically active as a schoolboy, playing the piano with the Gupfbuebä. These early experiences laid the foundation for everything that followed.
1990s - Education
to the musician
I studied double bass at the Basel Music Academy and then completed a two-year postgraduate course at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
2010s - Training
to airline pilot
I completed my training as a commercial pilot (ATPL) with theory, simulator training and many hours in the air. Today I fly privately and with passion.
Today – Three
Vocations, a life
I am a musician, a train engineer, and a pilot. Three roles, one common thread: listening, deciding, leading. With presence, care, and inner calm.
